Classes starting week beginning 4 October

We are having to adjust to shorter days and the greyness that comes with approaching winter. It is really important to keep doing things that make us feel positive and optimistic and exercise in your favourite form unfailingly helps. When you exercise, it increases endorphins, dopamine, adrenaline and endocannabinoid – these are all brain chemicals associated with feeling happy, feeling confident and capable, feeling less anxiety and stress and even less pain. Of course there is also the great social aspect of exercising in a group and making new friends and social connections.

Chorley Zumba Gold Tuesdays 1.30pm – Primrose Gardens, Fleet Street 
It was great to be back with my Chorley Zumba Gold group but in a beautiful venue with a sprung floor specially made for a dance class. There is parking on Fleet Street or at Asda. Entrance on Fleet Street.

No Wellbeing Walk  4pm Thursday 7 October
I have an appointment in Liverpool with my MS Consultant and it may be difficult to get back in time.

No classes on Saturday 16 October
No Pilates or Nordic Walking – I am away in Lancaster on a course.

Checking your breasts
Many people in my classes have had breast cancer – it is the most common cancer in women. (Men can get it too.) I am going for a mammogram next week as I promised a class member who has just come through her treatment. Her cancer was found very early from a mammogram which she nearly didn’t go to and consequently the prognosis is good. In my best friend however it was found too late. So if you haven’t had your mammogram book it asap. In the mean time regular self checks are important:
