Week beginning 5 October – new classes and volunteer opportunities

Hello everyone
Well it is October! How did that happen? From the feedback I am getting from people it is has made me realise how important our classes are for physical and mental health during such uncertain and restricted  times. Even though our classes have changed a little in terms of the procedures we have to follow there is something special about group exercise. We are slowly increasing our indoor timetable again with new classes starting on Monday 12 October with 1.30pm Zumba Gold and 2.30pm Seated Pilates and Thursday  evening 15 October 6.30pm Pilates all at St Ambrose Church Hall. My goal is to have something for everyone.

Sometimes it does rain when we do Nordic Walking!

Face to face classes and procedures
If you have been in contact with someone for more than 15 minutes, without a face mask and within 2 metres of them who then tests positive for Corona virus DO NOT COME TO CLASS FOR 14 DAYS. This applies whether you have symptoms or not. 

Here are your guidelines for a safe session:
Please book and pay on-line to come https://gymcatch.com/  
Do not enter the building until a couple of minutes before class start times and leave promptly. 
Please enter the building through the bottom door and leave through the top the Methodist Church Hall and in through the main entrance and out through the fire exit at St Ambrose Church Hall.
Please bring your own mat for Pilates
Masks are not encouraged during your exercise session so can be removed once you are ready to start the class. They can be worn entering and leaving the building.
Please maintain your 2 meters distance at all times.
Leave as soon as the class is finished so there is no cross over between groups.
Please hand sanitize before entering the building and use the hand sanitizers in the building and hand sanitize on leaving.
DO NOT COME TO THE SESSION IF YOU HAVE A HIGH TEMPERATURE, A COUGH OR A LOSS OR CHANGE IN YOUR NORMAL SENSE OR TASTE OR SMELL

QR Codes
There is a QR code on display at every venue you come to which you can scan. As a fitness instructor I am obliged to make sure this is available for you to scan. This is to help trace and stop the spread of coronavirus.

Volunteer Opportunities with Chorley Buddies
I have become involved with Chorley Buddies which started during lockdown to provide support for people who are isolated. I will be teaching Seated Pilates and Aquafit for them to help people to get out of the house for exercise and social contact while exercising. As the project expands they will need more volunteers. Zoom classes through Gymcatch
Zoom  classes are going to be a part of the future for now. They are really useful for people who are shielding or self isolating. They are also very convenient cutting down for travelling to and from a venue. Also we don’t know what is round the corner in terms of face to face classes. As you know there are new regulations and changes coming out all the time in response to Covid cases. Fridays now you can book on a Zoom class through Gymcatch 9.30am Zumba 10.30am Pilates.

Because of the government regulations a booking system is in place for all face to face classes as we can no longer do ‘paying at the door’ and we need to have a way to trace everyone with contact details. The  booking system can be found on https://gymcatch.com/  -go to this web-site and click the red ‘book’ button on the top right hand side. Search for Do Fitness.     
Nordic Walkers please bring your own poles (let me know if you need to borrow disinfected ones). All classes are following guidelines on social distancing.
Pilates class members please bring your own mats.
