Our 1 week summer break and Fresh Air Fit

 

Dear lovely Do Fitness class members,

There will be no classes week beginning 14th August.
Our annual summer week off is week beginning 14th August. Everything will be back to normal on Monday 21 August

Change of venue – Monday morning 31 July
We will move from the Methodist Church Hall to Prospect House, Sandy Lane, Leyland PR25 2EE on Monday 31st July. This is for 1 week only.

Fresh Air Fit and Nordic Walking
As you know  I have been talking about an outdoor exercise class for some time. This is just a reminder of what I have spoken about before:
I believe we need to be in outdoors more. Not just for fresh air and being in nature which is really good for us but it is about sunlight and its positive effects on the body. Part of my MS therapy includes the optimum levels of D3. The best way to increase your D3 levels is exposure of your skin to sunshine. Supplements can also be taken to increase levels but sunlight is the best. It is estimated that about 60% of the population in the UK are D3 deficient. This can have a significant impact on your health eg bone density or depression.

So we are going to have an outdoor circuits class called Fresh Air Fit  and Nordic Walking. Taster sessions for Nordic Walking will happen after the summer break and the start date for Fresh Air Fit will be announced soon. Fresh Air Fit will be on the Folly Cafe lawn at Worden Park on Saturday mornings. I am so excited to be offered this lovely place to do our class at. The Folly has amazingly healthy food and the girls who run it, Lisa and Paula are always so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Seated Pilates

Over the years I have seen the need for a Seated Pilates class. For some people getting up and down of the floor is uncomfortable or they feel nauseous exercising on the floor. My awareness of the need for this class has grown with dealing with my symptoms of MS which affect my balance amongst other things!

These are really fun classes and ideal if you have got any hip or knee joint problems or any balance issues. They are also great pre and post operative hip and knee surgery.
