No classes Bank Holiday Monday 29th May, pelvic floor and more

Dear lovely Do Fitness class members
The experience of going to the retreat in Turkey did me the world of good. It was in a mountainous region in the forest near Dalaman. We had freshly made fruit and vegetable juices, yoga and forest walks. I couldn’t help myself but I taught a few Pilates classes for them in the outdoors overlooking an olive grove. Beautiful! It certainly helped improve my MS symptoms. My limp had almost completely gone by then end of the week. However  I am still having problems with my left hand so that means I have been banned from trying to use knives in the kitchen as I am going end up with no finger tips!

Pelvic Floor Seminar.
We have the international presenter Cherry Baker booked now!  She is in such demand that the first date she could offer was 17th November. I have booked a room with a bar and we hope to make it into a bit of a social event. It would be a bit like stand up comedy where you learn lots.

Nordic Walking
I have been talking about an outdoor exercise class for some time. I believe we need to be in outdoors more. Not just for fresh air and being in nature which is really good for us but it is about sunlight and its positive effects on the body. Part of my MS therapy includes the optimum levels of D3. The best way to increase your D3 levels is exposure of your skin to sunshine. Supplements can also be taken to increase levels but sunlight is the best. It is estimated that about 60% of the population in the UK are D3 deficient. This can have a significant impact on your health eg bone density or depression.
I started Nordic Walking about 2 month ago and love it. You can go in groups or by yourself once you have done a bit of basic training. I am going to train as an instructor in June and hope to offer this now as our out door option. So excited! You know I love training courses!

Zumba Choreography
The way Donna and I get some of our ideas is to watch other instructors. I took inspiration from this instructor as he used quite a few Bollywood moves which I love. I promised to send you this clip for you to see the choreography. I have adapted it too for Fridays Chairfit. (Sorry he has no shirt on!)

Over the years I have seen the need for a Seated Pilates class. For some people getting up and down of the floor is uncomfortable or they feel nauseous exercising on the floor.  My awareness of the need for this class has grown with dealing with my symptoms of MS which affect my balance amongst other things!

New Wednesday afternoon Pilates 2.15pm St Ambrose Church Hall, Leyland PR25 4XA

Love to everyone
