Week beginning 21 July- it is never too late to start exercising

Hello,
Sometimes we limit ourselves with our own thoughts. I can’t do something because  … I am too old, too unfit, not strong enough etc. Fitness is about our habits and mindset. You won’t be able to run a 5 km overnight if you haven’t run 10 metres in the last 25 years. It will take regular practice and small increments to build up to 5km. Remember, too, it is about finding things you enjoy and are at your level. Running might not be for you, but dancing might be. You might not be able to stand for a Zumba class, but you can go to a chair-based class.

Fitness Over 40: Inspirational Stories That Prove You’re Never Too Old to Start
(Sadly, the oldest marathon runner, Fauja Singh, was killed in a road traffic accident last week.)

No classes at Euxton Community Centre on July 22
The GP practices and Falls Prevention team in the area have been referring people into a programme called Strong and Steady, which helps people with their strength, flexibility, balance and reaction times. This can greatly reduce the risk of falling as we get older. I have been asked to go along to talk to the group at their last session to encourage them to continue exercising by coming to our Do Fitness classes. (Sorry, it is at the same time as our Euxton classes.)
