Welcome back and to the start of the Autumn term! I had a good break- my accounts are done and the allotment is well looked after but unfortunately my husband still doesn’t have a new hip! Next Sunday I am off to Glossop for more Pilates training with the amazing Cherry Baker – we will be looking at the psychological benefits of Pilates amongst other things.
Thinking about our posture – why it is important
I was talking to a lovely friend the other day about how her cancer treatment had impacted on her. She said amongst other things it had affected her posture and she couldn’t wait to get back to Pilates. As many of you know good posture is an important part of many of our classes especially Pilates. If your spine is in its natural s-shaped position this allows for an even distibution of weight and optimum flexibility of movement. Often our jobs can have a big impact on posture, for example, if you have been desk based for long periods. With improved posture people look and feel more confident, breathe better and have fewer aches and pains especially in the neck and lower back.

Friday evening guided walks – open to all – continue for a couple of weeks 6pm
Our Friday evening walks are open to non-Nordic Walkers too now. We do walk at a reasonable pace with some hill climbs on certain walks. See Gymcatch for start location.
