We really underestimate the importance of relaxation. The world we live in is rush, rush and a constant bombardment of information and news. There are many benefits to being able to relax deeply. Relaxing is important for both mental and physical health. Relaxation slows your heart rate, relieves tension in the muscles, reduces blood pressure and lowers the production of stress hormones. It is an important part of self-care. This is why I always include a guided relaxation in Pilates. Here are some useful links:
