Week beginning 3 April, Easter holiday dates and do you really need that biscuit?

Easter is next weekend so we have no classes next Friday 7 April and Monday 10 April so a lovely long weekend for everyone.


Do you really need that biscuit? Creating healthy habits
Do you automatically open the biscuit tin when you have a cup of tea? Do you open a bag of crisps when you watch your favourite television programme. We often do things without thinking – it is just a habit we have got into. First of all, think ‘Am I actually hungry?’ Then think ‘Is this good for my body and my health’? As we get older these habits may become more significant as that biscuit you have everyday over time might become extra abdominal fat which might start to impact on you in terms of pre-diabetes or high cholesterol or high blood pressure- so the innocent little habit is no so harmless afterall. Always review your habits and see which can be changed and you might be surprised how quickly your jeans fit more comfortably!



Easter holiday dates and days off for training in April
No classes Good Friday 7 April or Easter Monday 10 April
No daytime classes from Tuesday 18 April to Friday 21 April (4 days) due to training course. (It would also have been my late son Yianni’s birthday and I can’t teach then for understandable reasons.)

Easter Teddies and Bunnies Gifts 
A wonderful class member has been busy again knitting Easter bunnies and teddies to raise funds for our local MS Society. They are wonderful gifts and cost only £5. Thank you Judith for all your hard work.


Start location changes for Monday 6.30pm and Saturday 10.30am Nordic Walking after Easter and Worden Park news
From Monday 6.30pm  April 17 Nordic Walking will start at Leyland Tesco’s Extra and Saturday 10.30am April 15 Nordic Walking will start on Paradise Lane Leyland.

Pilates on Zoom starts Tuesdays 7pm 11 April 
Trying to fit exercise into our day can be challenging especially if you are working full time. I know for some people a Zoom Pilates class might be a lot more convenient. Every Tuesday except first Tuesday of the Month. Chairfit and Seated Pilates 
If you or a friend have arthritis or mobility issues a good place to start with exercise is a chair based class.

Stamps
Christine T. is still collecting used stamps for RNIB to help raise funds for people who are affected by sight loss. If you bring them into class I will forward them to her. RNIB – See differently   Thank you Christine for doing this and thank you for everyone who has brought stamps into class!
