Hello,

My hip replacement surgery is scheduled for 24 February- fingers crossed.

Classes finish at Prospect House on Thursday evening  22 February.
Wednesday classes only at Prospect House will start again with cover teachers on Wednesday 13 March.

Chairfit at St Mary’s Community Centre will stop on Thursday 22 February and start again on Thursday 14 March.

Zumba Gold at Primrose Gardens does not stop and will continue with a cover teacher.


February is Heart Month
February is Heart Month when the British Heart Foundation raises awareness of heart conditions. This year they have a campaign for people to learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR in just 15 minutes.  See the link below

Week beginning 29 January and reducing high blood pressure naturally

As you know I am a bit of a fan of Dr Michael Mosley and I have even been to see him live to hear him talk about health and fitness. A recent extended episode of Just One Thing was particularly useful as it was all about exercise Just One Thing – with Michael Mosley – Exercise Special – with Prof Marie Murphy – BBC Sounds

We are back into our routine of classes. It has been great to catch up with everyone after the Christmas break. My hip replacement is scheduled for 24 February so we will be having a few weeks off from classes then. Thank you for being patient with me as I hobble around at the moment.

Balance

Hello,
Our full timetable is back. It was great to see everyone last week when we started on Wednesday.  A break always makes me realise how good the classes make us feel physically and mentally when we come back. It is amazing how quickly we can start to feel stiff and inflexible. In every class, we have flexibility exercises whether it is Zumba, Pilates, or Chair based. Here are some reasons why:

Sad news
Sadly one of our lovely class members passed away over Christmas. Eve Marsden who came to Seated Pilates and Chairfit died on 28 December after a short illness. Her beautiful smile will be much missed.
